What a beautiful day to kick off our first Walk with Walker of 2018! The weather in River Falls was warm with a light breeze and just the right amount of sun. Thankfully the rain held off until after our walk! The White Kinnickinnic Pathway in River Falls is a beautiful stroll along the river. Thanks to a new grant, the city has been able to expand the pathway with even more trails for the community to enjoy! We loved the scenic views of the river and a quaint stroll through downtown River Falls to round out our walk. I had so much fun talking with nurses from the local hospital and a group of homeschool students who came out to join us!
After the walk, State Representative Shannon Zimmerman was kind enough to host us for lunch as his winery, Belle Vinez. We had a delicious meal and a fascinating tour of the winery from Josh Zimmerman, the chief winemaker! We also had a tour of downtown and several of the local shops and businesses. River Falls is an excellent tourist destination!
I’m so grateful to Christ Blasius, the CEO of the River Falls Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau and her team for putting together a fantastic first Walk with Walker of 2018 and to the Wisconsin Department of Tourism for a great kickoff to another great year!
