It was another hot, beautiful, summer day in Muskego! We started our Walk with Walker in Veterans Memorial Park. I was so excited to see so many children out enjoying the park. We were met by Muskego Mayor Kathy Chiaverotti, who welcomed us to her lovely city.
We headed down the boardwalk to Betty’s Woods, a beautiful 5-acre forested area on the west and south sides of the park. Did you know that the southern half of the park is a conservation area? It’s full of colorful wildflowers and endangered grasses!
We walked through the park to the old Muskego Settlement, near where DandiLion Park used to be. They still have the sign from the old Tail Spin roller coaster!
Veterans Memorial Park is also used in the summer for a children’s day camp. It was so nice to have a dozen campers join us on the walk. They were very interested in learning what a First Lady does!
The Muskego Area Chamber of Commerce was a wonderful host. I’m so grateful to Krisann Durnford, the Chamber Executive Director, and to Mayor Chiaverotti for a wonderful 66th Walk with Walker!
