• The Mighty Mississippi

Even though the day started out a little chilly and overcast, it ended up being a beautiful day for a walk along the La Crosse River State Trail! We gathered at a shelter in Myrick Hixon EcoPark, a wonderful non-profit that works in partnership with the La Crosse Parks and Recreation Department. The park provides and promotes environmental protection and awareness through education, entertainment, events, and exploration of hundreds of miles of hiking trails. It’s really a great place that offers lots of family-friendly fun.

  • The Jewelbox of the Midwest!

I am always amazed at how much fun it is to get out and see Wisconsin! It was another great walk at Cave of the Mounds this week.  It really is amazing we have so many different types of nature, scenery, and landmarks in this beautiful state. Both the rolling hills above the cave, and, the cave itself, were really very beautiful.

  • Honoring Our Veterans at The Highground

I had been to The Highground before, but being there the week of Veterans Day was really a moving experience. We were honored to have several veterans in attendance today on the walk, including the former Wisconsin Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Colonel Ray Boland. It was wonderful to spend the morning with them and have a chance to thank them in person for their service.
