    Please join First Lady Tonette Walker on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 as she walks along the Namekagon River Nature Trail in Trego, Wisconsin.

    Participants will gather and park at the Namekagon River Visitors Center located at W5483 US Highway 62, Trego, WI 54888 and be transported by bus to the trailhead. Please meet by 9:30 AM. The guided walk will span approximately 1.5 miles, beginning and ending at the trailhead parking lot.

    On October 2, 1968, President Lyndon Johnson signed the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act establishing a national system of river protection and the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. The Namekagon River is designated a Wild and Scenic Riverway, one leg of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. This year is the 50th anniversary of this designation.

    Please be advised to wear or bring with you the following: good walking shoes, umbrellas, sunscreen, bug repellent, hat, layers or a jacket, camera, and water.

    Please join First Lady Tonette Walker on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 as she walks along the newly-completed White Kinnickinnic Pathway in River Falls, Wisconsin.

    Participants will gather and park at the Rivers Falls Area Chamber of Commerce located at 215 W. Main Street, River Fall, WI 54022.  Please meet by 9:30 AM.  The guided walk will span approximately 1.2, beginning and ending at the Chamber of Commerce. ​

    White Kinnickinnic Pathway Park is located to the west of the downtown district and runs along the west bank of the Kinnickinnic River from the Winter Street Bridge to Maple Street. Some of the main attractions of the park include a lookout deck onto Lake George, picnic tables, paved trails, lighting and natural landscaping of mostly trees and some grassy areas. The north end of the park is connected to Heritage Park, Veterans Park, the Riverwalk and the downtown district.
