Please join First Lady Tonette Walker on Tuesday August 16, 2016 as she walks the historical Beckman Mill Park in Beloit, Wisconsin.
Participants will gather and park at Beckman Mill, 11600 South County Road H, Beloit, WI. Please meet by 9:15 AM. The walking route will span a loop of the historical Beckman Mill area as well as a walk through the Thomas G. Kautz Nature trail which includes a savanna trail, an accessible boardwalk through native wetlands and a forested hiking trail in the northern reaches of the park. There will also be a tour of the Beckman Mill.
This beautiful 52 acre park consists of sprawling lawns, a popular fishing pond, sawmill display, and the highlight of the park; the Beckman-Howe Mill, a fully restored grist mill.
Please be advised to wear or bring with you the following: good walking shoes, umbrellas, sunscreen, bug repellent, hat, layers or a jacket, camera, and water.
